Description
Leases for quarrying and mineral rights around the coast of Mynydd Tir y Cwmwd, between Sir Love and a number of individuals and companies, began in the late 1870's. Quarrying continued until the late 1950's, when the last working quarry is thought to have closed.

Quarry workings are shown extending for some 450m along the edge of the hill on an historic chart, with a quay (NPRN 518586) at the east end.
