Description
A shoal (1 1/2 to 2 fathoms) and pinnacle measuring some 260m in length are shown to the northwest of Crow Rock on an historic chart. Navigational instructions are to align the St Ann's Head lighthouses and steer north by west, two thirds west to clear the Crow Rock and the two Toe reefs. Sailing Directions dating to 1884 note '? several straggling rocks named the Toes; that to the northwest is about a cable in extent, with its highest part nearly awash at low water, and bears NW by N one quarter of a mile from the beacon; the patch has 4 and 6 fathoms water close-to on all sides..'
