Description
On OS 1st edtion 25in mapping, a tracks leads northwards from the 'Old Limekiln' (NPRN 518617) to end at the foreshore confirming a landing place. The track contionues southward to Upton castle. The track branches just to the south of the limekiln to ford the pill and provide access to the foreshore on the western side of the pill to service the deserted rual settlement of Oakland (NPRN 518719). Modern aerial photography shows only heavy tree cover.
