A large quarry extending some 175m by 85m is shown OS 1st edition 25 in mapping. The quarry is open to the river on its northern side with a cut channel creating a 'T' shaped wharf and warping/turning area. A Grade II listed limekiln is located at the quarry's northwestern corner. Modern aerial photography show the quarry under heavy tree cover.
