Site Record

OS 1st edition 25in mapping shows the tracks of the tramroad leading to an irregularly shaped 'Engine House'. The depresssion for a former mine shaft and a small rectangular building (whim?) is shown adjoining the engine house to the northwest. A small square building annotated 'Smithy' is shown some 30m to the east. Modern aerial photography shows only a flat ploughed field, but the outline of the engine house is still discernible as a cropmark.
