The coal fold associated with the old quay (NPRN 518812) is suggested by the stone walling around this enclosure. OS 1st editon 25in mapping shows the track leading along the foreshore westward to the Lawrenny quays passing a small rectangular building in the southeast corner. The track turns north and then east to cross the ford towards the lime kiln (NPRN 518814) and coal pits centred on SN05500677 .
