The `powder magazine? now stands roofless but has blocked windows and openings.

Event and Historical Information:
A small rectangular building is shown at the end of the sand spit with the annotation 'Powder Mill' on an historic chart dating to 1842, but is noted as the 'Ferry House' on a chart dating to 1872. The ferry ceased to operated officially in c.1849 (see NPRN 240466). There are three structures on the Enclosure Award map at Abermenai, one of which corresponds to the position in which a `white powder magazine? stands on the OS 1:2500 map of 1889.
