The substantial seawall is shown running along the southern edge of the estuary on an historic chart. At this location, a smaller bank extends for a short distance northwestwards into the saltmarsh. This feature along with that shown further to the west may represent the abandonment of a reclaimation scheme (see NPRN 519117).
