Description
Reservoir marked on the 1891 OS. The dam is faced in stone with an earthen core, of variable thickness up to 3m, and up to 1.5m high on the downhill side. It is built in 2 sections on either side of a natural outcrop, respectively 38m and 22m long E-W. The pond is now approximately 70m E-W by 60m. Streams that flow from the reservoir are irregular, and flow SW towards a large pit (520413), which is marked as a pond on the 1891 OS, and S towards a lower reservoir (520399).
Recorded as part an Uplands Initiative field survey.
