Description
Tramway at Bwlch Cwmllan quarry, first shown on the 1901 OS and probably therefore built in the 1890s. It began at the upper E end at an inclined plane (520379) and descended another inclined plane (520394) to a mill (520424), a length of approximately 330m ENE-WSW. The 1920 revision of the OS shows it extended a further 100m towards the W to a spoil tip (520423). Its course can be followed only intermittently as a narrow path, suggesting that it was of the nominal 2-foot gauge common in Snowdonia.
Recorded as part of RCAHMW Uplands Initiative Project. R Hayman, H&H, 05/10/2011.
