This building is shown on the 1833 1 inch to 1 mile OS map. It is not clear if it is the cottage at this settlement or an outbuilding, as two buildings are shown in the same field parcel on the parish tithe survey of 1843-44,which lists Cwmfelin Newydd as a cottage and garden, with 12 acres of land. By the time the 1877 1:2500 Ordnance Survey map was surveyed, the adjacent building had been abandoned and was gone by the time of the 1899 OS map. This building was still in use in 1899 and was presumably used as a cottage for some time afterwards, possibly into the second half of the 20th century. It is now a roofless ruin. Trysor 2011.
