One of the main stoped open cuttings at Carndochan Gold Mine (NMR 404224). The cutting is orientated north-north-east/south-south-west running along a sloping outcrop and has a large spoil heap on the east side. The cutting measures approximately 20m long by 5m wide and is up to 6m deep. The site is shown on the current OS mapping. P.J. Schofield, OA North, 12th January 2012.
