A landing place is suggested by the convergence of road/tracks on the foreshore. The nearby Castle gate pit (NPRN 525037), the former watermill (NPRN 525038), the former New Inn at SS17280728 and the Factory at SS17530765 all provide facilities that would have needed to be serviced by small local vessels.
