The ELIZA was a brig built at Newport in 1824. Technical and configuration specifications are given as 135 263/3500 tons burthen; 69 ft length x 20.4 ft bredth x12.3ft depth in hold; 1 deck, 2 masts, brig, rigged with standing bowsprit, square sterned, carvel built. At time of loss, the vessel was owned by Frederick Seaborn of Newport, mariner; John Seaborn of Fishguard, mariner; David James of Newport, mariner; Elizabeth Evans of Cardigan, widow; Daniel Evans of Newport, mariner; John Owen of Newport, gentleman; Elizabeth Morris of Newport, widow; Margaret Stephens of Fishguard, widow; Mary Lloyd of Fishgaurd, widow; Sarah Davies of Fishguard, widow. The master at the time of loss was Frederick Seabourne. The registry was cancelled 17 April 1855. There is a comment on the registry that the vessel and papers were lost 3 January 1854 on Mumbles Head in Swansea Bay.
