OS first edition mapping shows a reactangular reef - the length facing seawards measures 110m. The northern arms running measures 66m and the southern arm, which curves measures 37m. A rocky outcrop, measuring some 80m runs, straight out from the beach. The reef running straight offshore is all that is visible on modern aerial photography.
