Event and Historical Information:
The LILY was a wooden smack built at Swansea in 1825. Technical and configuration specifications are given as 25.65gt; 42ft length x 14.8ft bradth x 7.2ft depth in hold; 1 deck, 1 mast, rigging smack, stern square, carvel, framework wood; Official number 7934. At time of loss, the vessel was owned by John Topham of Appledore, sailmaker. The smack's port of Bideford Shipping Register entry (4 in 1867) is closed with the annotation 'the vessel having been totally wrecked on Cardiff Sands on the 17th September 1872'.
