Description
Ordnance Survey 1st edition 25in mapping of 1889 shows a rectangular building measuring 17m x 7m with enclosures to east and west, annotated 'Felin Slade (Disused)'. The mill wheel pit is shown to at the southern side of the building, measuring some 8m in length. It was fed by a mineral spring running down the valley from the west retained by a small dam and sluice 80 metres to the west. The mill is noted as disused on the OS mapping. Although partial obscured by tree cover, modern aerial photography confirms that the main mill building is no longer be extant. The dam appears to have been built upon (see The Slade, NPRN 30240).
