A milestone of c1800 on the E side of the road from Dinas Mawddwy to Llanuwchllyn, via the pass of Bwlch y Groes. The stone was probably erected after the road was improved, which may have occurred by 1797 when John Warwick Smith painted a view 'from the New Road from Bwlch y Groes to Bala, above Cwm Llwyd'. The stone is an unworked slab 0.6m high by 0.5 by 0.1m. It is inscribed: 'To BALA 9 Ms/ To DINAS 9 MILES'.
