Description
The remains of a structure immediately to the west of trackway 530796. There was a clear rectangular room, measuring 6m by 4m, built partially into a slope to the west and a possible courtyard, measuring 3m by 3m, opening onto a trackway to the east. The walls survived to heights of between 0.6 and 1.2m. There are rubble heaps on the south side of the courtyard, which may have represented the remains of two smaller rooms or pens in an L-shaped arrangement. The 1901 OS map shows a roofed building on this site, possibly a barn associated with the farmstead on the east side of the track (530606). T. Pillatt, ArcHeritage, 27 June 2012.
