This is the site of the Park Colliery upcast shaft, which was associated with the main colliery site, about 1 kilometre to the east, to which it was connected by a tramway. Around the upcast shaft was a collection of buildings, which included an engine house. The shaft has long been infilled and there is now no trace of any of the buildings associated with it. Only the broad terrace where the buildings stood is now visible in the landscape. J.J. Hall, Trysor, 8 March 2011
