Description
A building, part of Aberdaunant mine, NPRN 402057, is shown here on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map of 1886. When recorded in 2014 during an Upland Survey by Trysor it was seen to made of stone with brick-lined window and a wheel pit on its western side. Overall the length of the building is 10 metres by 6.25 metres wide with the gable upstanding to its apex point at the southern end with a central window. This is appears to be the building referred to in Bick, "The Old Metal Mines of Wales" as Captain Toy's engine house. It is now set in scrub with trees and moss growing over the structure. J.J. Hall, Trysor, 5th July 2013
