A cutting oriented E-W, 15m long, 6m wide and up to 2.5m deep at the upper end. The entrance is obscured by subsidence. The cutting is mainly covered in turf, and there is no spoil visible. It is shown on the 1886 OS map, and labelled 'Old Coal Level' on the 1901 map.
