Description
A large quarry, approximately 150m N-S x 25m, in the form of a deep depression in the W-facing hillside. It has a bedrock face up to 3m high on the uphill (E) side and is turf-covered. Stone was probably extracted to build the township of Waun Lwyd which, like the quarry, is first shown on the 1901 OS map, and possibly also for the early C20 school.
Recorded as part of RCAHMW Uplands Initiative Project, W B Horton, H & H, 11/09/2013.
