An area of pits and spoil tips, 100m E-W x 30m, the ground regraded on the N side. The pits are approximately 4m in diameter and 1.5m deep. The spoil tips are up to 3m high and include finger tips. Part of a large area of patching at the N end of Gelligaer Common, which is shown on the 1884 OS map (NPRN80455) but was mostly regraded in the late C20.
