Gamallt lead mine (nprn 537495) is recorded in 1834 but work had ceased by the time of the 1891 OS map. A cutting oriented N-S above the Afon Gamallt measures 16m long, up to 5m wide and 1.8m deep. Within this a 6m-long section is only 0.9m wide with rock-cut sides. The entrance to the mine is not visible, but the area is very wet and overgrown with vegetation and turf. Probably one of the 'Trial Shafts' labelled on the 1891 OS map.
