A deep cutting oriented SSW-NNE, 15m long, 6m wide and up to 1.8m deep, partly bound by a revetment wall. The adit entrance is concealed by large boulders with water seeping out beneath. At the downhill (SSW) end are small spoil tips covering an area 15m square, with thin grass over loose stone. It is labelled 'Level (Lead)' on the 1891 OS map, but 'Old Level' on the 1901 edition. There is a small building adjacent (NPRN537207).
