Description
One of a line of 12 relict C20 grouse butts (NPRN 539453) aligned ESE-WNW, running downhill from Pen Plaenau onto a large plateau, and shown on modern OS mapping. This example is badly eroded, only the S half surviving and measuring up to 2m in diameter and 0.5m deep. There is grass to the interior and a slight heather-covered bank. Two fence posts have been added, facing S, possibly a later shooting stand.
Recorded as part of RCAHMW Uplands Initiative Project, W B Horton, H & H, 24/09/2014.
