One of a line of 9 grouse butts (NPRN 539450) oriented E-W and shown on C20 OS mapping. This substantial circular butt has a pit 2m in diameter and 0.8m deep, surrounded by a well-preserved bank up to 1.5m wide, heavily overgrown with billberry. The entrance is on the E side, a piece of ceramic pipe suggesting this was also a drain. The base is lined by 3 wooden posts and contains reeds.
