Garth Road Primary School is a former British School built in 1848 for 500 children. It is a symmetrical Tudor style building with gabled porch entrances for boys and for girls. The main gables have attic ventilation slits and inscribed slate tablets. The school became a Board School in 1871 and closed c.1946. The building was used for a time by sports clubs but now appears to be in use for residential purposes.
