Description
This was a three unit pigsty set at the north-east corner of Glan-rhyd farmyard and probably contemporary with the grand late eighteenth century estate buildings (see NPRN 31602-4). The pigsty was a relatively modest structure. It had rubble stone walls under a slate gabled roof, with rough dressings to the openings. It faced west into the yard where it was fronted by three small pigyards depicted on the 1st edition OS County series (Carmarthen, XXXVI.12 1890). Doorways, with ventilations slits over, led into the sties, which were divided by slate slab partitions. The upper part may have been a hen loft.
The building appears to have been demolished in the 1990s.
