A traditional landing place is suggested by the presence of the nearby defended enclosure (NPRN 94269) and tracks which lead to the beach from it and the limekiln to the east (NPRN 544162). Modern aerial photography shows a bridge over the stream providing access to the beach and possibly a corridor of cleared foreshore below highwater mark.
