Description
1. A small univallate hillslope enclosure above Tai-bach was first noted on aerial photos, refs:
88-CS-031 (RCAHMW)
89/085/279-80 (OS)
Although clear from the air, on the ground the nature of the earthwork is ambiguous. It is sited on a steep slope (about 18 deg. from horizontal) and the most prominent bank is on that side which is most strongly defended by a grassy gorge, on the E. This feature of the topography is evident from the contour pattern on the 1:10000 scale OS map. In contrast, on the downhill side the bank is slight, barely visible on the ground.
visited, D.K.Leighton, RCAHMW, 17 August 1992.

2. 'Site of Battle' (nprn 406182) is marked on the first, second and third editions of the Ordnance Survey 1:2500 mapping (but not on the fourth edition) in a hollow called Pant-y-cae at the western end of Mynydd Brombil. There is no further information at present.
