A substantially-built field barn, described in the above source, is supported on a platform significantly bigger than the barn and was therefore possibly re-used at a later date.
The platform measures 21m long (E-W), about 7m longer than the barn. Its width, between the hood wings,is about 9.5m wide. The hood appears to have succumbed to slumping, though it was clearly reveted, possibly an element in its re-use. The terrace projects outwards to a height of 2.5m.
