The remains of a multi-phase Early Bronze Age round barrow, forming part of a cluster of Bronze Age funerary monuments in this part of the Vale of Glamorgan, was found in association with 23 cremations and a cremation field containing 36 cremations, during an archaeological Strip Map Record (SMR) and Geophysical Survey (GS) on land to the south of the new St Athan NAR road scheme, Llanmaes, in 2020.
