Records dating to the 17th century indicate that the Plasdwbwl was then known as ‘Plas-pant y Rege (Plasyparte Roger)’ and owned by the Abbey of St Dogmael. The farmstead of Plas Dwbl or Plas Dwbwl, was occupied by Stephen Davies at the time of the 1846 Ttithe map, and later the George family until the mid-20th century.
In 1979 it became a farm run on biodynamic principles by three women - Marion Swatton, Mary Haydon and Nim de Bruyne who taught at the Nant-y-Cwm Steiner School (NPRN 32113). The farm was passed to the Ruskin Mill Trust in 2010, when it became a college for young people with autism and other learning difficulties utilising outdoor learning environments to support the development of work and life skills.
