The Welsh Independent Chapel, Capel Newydd, was built between 1901 and 1902 in the Gothic style to the design of Henry Herbert of Ammanford. It is entered via a porch in the gable wall. It is constructed of sandstone and ashlar, and has tall shafts with stout pinnacles. Within is a three-sided gallery with an elaborately panelled front, stepped down to the rear organ gallary. The organ is set into a tall pointed recess.
