Description
An early C19 scouring channel. The NW end, an extent of approximately 50m, is the clearest, while the remainder is in the form of a V-shaped depression. The NW end is at SO 2584 1074. The channel is approximately 250m long WNW-ESE. At its SE end it is cut by the Blaenavon to Llanellen road, but continues S of the road. The channel is part of the extensive early C19 iron ore workings at Pen-y-ffordd goch that seem to pre date the building of Keepers Pond c1817.
