Description
This is a sinuous and irregular scouring channel orientated generally east-west and approximately 300m long. It is up to 15m wide and 4.0-5.0m deep with steep sides, that to the south eroded. It contains ponds along its length; the areas between may have been dammed. The channel has a square eastern (upper) end and cuts an earlier leat (NPRN 67328). Finishes to the west near the Blaenavon- Abergavenny road.
This is part of an extensive area of old ironstone and coal workings (see NPRN 308295).
