Description
Late C19 municipal cemetery. Facing Varteg Road is a rubble-stone boundary wall with cock-and-hen coping. At the SE end is an entrance with ashlar piers and double iron gates, to the R of which is a kissing gate. To the NW end is a similar gateway with kissing gate to its L. Between these main entrances is another entrance with simpler double iron gates. There are no significant structures inside the cemetery, except the footings of a former mortuary chapel. The cemetery, which has been extended at the SE end, but the original site covers an area approximately 200m NW-SE by 100m.
