Seion Independent Chapel was built in 1835 and modified in 1858. The chapel was rebuilt in 1876, in the Later Vernacular style of the short-wall entry type, by architect Richard owen of Liverpool. By 1992 the chapel had fallen into disuse but plans were put forward for conversion into the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art.
