Singleton Park, an area of nineteenth-century parkland (nprn 700373), is located to the south-west of Swansea. In its south-west corner is a boating lake and later nineteenth-century maps portray a rectangular boat house at the water's edge on its south shore. As depicted it was roughly 11m long (north-west by south-east) and 4m wide.
No traces were found during field examination. The site is a short distance north-east of Ty Harry Lodge (306532). The lodge is detached from the estate and the creation of a private garden has enveloped much of the boat house site. Its northern, lakeside, end is outside the garden but the ground adjoining the lake appears to have been landscaped.
