Ysgol Llanilar Junior School serves the village of Llanilar and the surrounding rural area. In 2010 there were 89 pupils being taught in four classes, through the medium of Welsh. In 2017 the number of pupils enrolled at the school had increased to 114. They were now being taught in five classes, four of which were mixed-aged.
