Ferranti Computer Systems Limited (later GEC Marconi) was built between 1980 and 1983 as part of the development of the Ty Coch Industrial Estate. It was designed by J L Russell after he left his post of Chief Architect at the Cwmbran Development Corporation. The complex very effectively uses elements of the 'high-tech' style in combination with a traditional red brick and full height pilasters.

The original layout included offices, lecture theatres, computer facilities and amenity facilities. It is now the headquarters of the South Wales Ambulance Service.
