Description

Built as part of the Cwmbran Development Corporation's planning for the St Dials neighbourhood, the St Dials Infant School was designed by the Monmouthshire County Council's architect department in 1960-1961. Designed by their lead architect, Colin Jones, it followed his style of light brick, well-lit, airy buildings widemarcated by a two-storey tower.

To the front of the school is the sculpture 'Kate's Bears'. This was commissioned by the Welsh Arts Council in 1973 and was completed by artist Anthony Stevens in 1975.

Currently in use as Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbrân. In 2019 there were 386 pupils between 3-11 years old on roll, including 56 part-time nursery age pupils.
