A circular lime kiln is located on the east bank of the River Solva, near the foot of the Gribin path. The lime kiln is marked as ‘Old Limekiln’ on the 1st Edition OS 25” map, as well as an adjacent rectangular building, probably the kiln keeper’s cottage. It is one of eleven kilns within the Solva area (see NPRN 40731)
The kiln has been incorporated into a house with a corrugated steel structure obscuring the kiln eyes. The crucible is infilled and used as a raised lawn at the rear of the house. The house stands on the site of the former keeper’s cottage.
The kiln is 4.4m in height on its western side, and 5.5m in width across the top. The kiln is a Grade II listed building (CADW No.12451).
