The current Llanelay Hall was first built for the Bassett Family in 1821. The house survives today as a hotel known as Lanelay Hall. The gasworks were situated south of the country house. In an area called Talbot green now located west of Llantrisant. The gas would have been used to light the house and associated buildings.
