Capel Stryd Chapel was built in 1810, originally as the Nanteos Estate office and then used as a coach house and stable. The building was acquired by the Quakers c.1853 and used by them as a meeting room. In 1906 the chapel was refronted as a Unitarian Chapel, in the Sub-Classical and Vernacular style of the gable entry type, by architect John Hartland of Cardiff. In 1976 the chapel was converted to musum use but by 1998 had fallen into disuse.
