Soar Methodist Chapel was built in 1803 and rebuilt in 1831 in the Gothic style of the gable entry type.
The chapel was offered for sale as a place of worship in 1969 and was purchased by the Menevia diocese for use as a Catholic church. Later that year the church was opened under its new dedication of Our Lady of the Sea.
