Capel-y-Cwm Unitarian Chapel was built in 1906 in the Simple Round-Headed style of the gable entry type.

Before the chapel was built, 'services were formerly held fortnightly in the outhouse of a shop in the village.' - from notes written by Arthur Chater to accompany photographs taken on 7th September 1966.
