Description
Tabernacl Methodist Chapel was built in 1796, enlarged in 1829 and rebuilt in 1863. A sunday school was added in 1897 and internal alterations made in 1905. The present chapel, dated 1863, is built in the Simple Round-Headed style with a gable-entry plan, to the design of architect Richard Owen of Liverpool. Tabernacl is now Grade 2 Listed as a mid-ninetenth century chapel retaining good external and internal architectural character.
